Wellbeing in Practice Mentoring

What is Wellbeing in Practice Mentoring?

This mentoring service is designed specifically for healthcare professionals with their own health challenges. For many healthcare professionals it can be really difficult to look after your own health while caring for someone elses. ‘Just one more patient before I take a break’ can quite easily turn into a 4pm lunch time or a whole shift on just one cup of tea. This service is designed to fit in seamlessly with existing CPD and supervision but with the focus on managing additional health challenges. Pacing, planning, joint protection, dealing with flare-ups and communicating your needs to other staff members. I aim to help you learn and implement the strategies you need to improve your workplace performance and keep yourself well while working in challenging healthcare settings.

How does the appointment work?

Appointments are held via video chat. I work evenings, weekends and bank holidays to make sure you can fit sessions around shift patterns. The appointments are relaxed and flexible. We work at the pace you need and focus on the strategies that will help you most while problem solving issues as they arise. These sessions can be ‘one off’ or an ongoing part of regular supervision, this can be especially useful for those on short rotations through different settings.

A standard consultation is 1 hour, after that time I will give you the option to continue or finish where we are, you can also book another session at this time.

How much does it cost?

Appointments are £55 for 1 hour for working healthcare professionals and £40 for students and those currently out of work. To receive the lower rate student identification will need to be provided. A non-refundable deposit of £5 will need to be paid before the session. Payments can be made via paypal or direct bank transfer.

I will always do my best to be as quick as possible without rushing things. I know money doesn’t grow on trees so payment plans are available on request.

This session is not CPD acredited but summary letters/proof can be provided on request if you wish to include this as part of your professional development.
