Well-being in Work / Practice Mentoring

What is Well-being in Work / Practice Mentoring?

This is actually two services squished into one page. Well-being in Practice is designed specifically for health and social care professionals with their own health challenges. For many healthcare professionals it can be really difficult to look after your own health while caring for someone elses. ‘Just one more patient before I take a break’ can quite easily turn into a 4pm lunch time or a whole shift on just one cup of tea. This service is designed to fit in seamlessly with existing CPD and supervision but with the focus on managing additional health challenges.

Well-being in Work is for anyone not-in-healthcare. Office politics, job specific wear and tear, niche service requirements and ill suited work environments can all take their toll when you’re living with any long-term condition.

Regardless of the work, Well-being Mentoring aims to help you successfully integrate strategies like Pacing, planning, joint protection, dealing with flare-ups and communicating your needs to other staff members. We can discuss assistive equipment and how to navigate disclosure and dealing with Occy Health. I aim to help you learn and implement all the strategies and skills you need to improve your workplace performance and keep yourself well while working in challenging circumstances.

How does the appointment work?

1 hour appointments are held via Microsoft Teams. I work evenings, weekends and bank holidays to make sure you can fit sessions around shift patterns. The appointments are relaxed and flexible. We work at the pace you need and focus on the strategies that will help you most while problem solving issues as they arise. These sessions can be ‘one off’ or an ongoing part of regular supervision. Regular sessions can can be especially useful for those on short rotations through different settings, interns, anyone in the process of changing careers or those undertaking a phased return to work.

A standard consultation is 1 hour, after that time I will give you the option to continue or finish where we are, you can also book another session at this time.

How much does it cost?

I will always do my best to be as quick as possible without rushing things. I know money doesn’t grow on trees so payment plans are available on request.

This session is not CPD accredited but summary letters/proof can be provided on request if you wish to include this as part of your professional development.
