Slept in this morning, up at about 9:30 and was spoilt by mum who brought me breakfast in bed π I read on my kindle for a while before getting up and jumping in a hot bath for a long soak. I pampered myself and got ready for another weeks rehab starting tomorrow. After a relaxing bath I made a start packing and sorting my things ready for an early start tomorrow π I alternated packing with physio exercises.
Once Addz got home we relocated to the sofa and I got started with another one of my goals. Downloading and customising ‘WorkRave’ a little program that helps you pace your computer usage by reminding you to take micro breaks, proper breaks and by limiting the total amount of time you spend know your computer each day.
I got it all set up and I now get reminders every half an hour to fidget or change position. Every hour I’m prompted to take a 5 min break and I can have a maximum of 8 hours a day on my laptop. I did need a little bit of help from Addz tho… It wasn’t the easiest programme to install!
I also booked accommodation for my first 3 weeks at uni in January π can’t wait to get back to my OT training.
I’m just catching up with the weekends blogging before I finish packing and finish another set of exercise.
Ciao for now folks.
Hi Jo
It’s Liz from UK Potsies. Sounds like you had a productive week. I was much the same as you as I did the 3 week rehab course at Stanmore in July 2012.
I struggled with the swimming and heat intolerance but the staff are so good and some are knowledgeable about Pots. I found my first weekend home I just wanted to sleep! It’s exhausting! I loved the program and found it so helpful especially with asking for help and pacing. Is Mick the porter still there? He’s lovely and always moans about his job lol
Anyway I’ll be looking forward to reading your blog with interest for the 2nd week. They take things up a notch! The talk where they include Pots I hated as they had no clue really and just said it was fainting and low blood pressure! Anyway good luck, zebra hugs.

Hi Liz! Thanks so much for reading, ive already shared my week 2 posts and im on my 3rd week now π yes Mick is still here! He’s fab isnt he?! They’ve included PoTS in a few talks and they seem to know a lot more about it now! They even talked about some of the management strategies like salt and compression π im very impressed with the whole prpgram to be honest π
Much love
